Meet Our Founder

Akwaaba! My name is Willona Yaa Amoakoh. I founded Alasa Media to address the need for clean, family-friendly content. While raising my kids, I discovered some of the television programs made for children projected unhealthy subliminal messages. I also learned about the lack of books that reflected heroes from the African diaspora and beyond. From that moment on, I decided to combine my years of experience in the performing arts industry and as a licensed social worker to share stories that inspire hope and spread joy.

None of this would be possible without answered prayers and the support of my family and friends like you. Thank you! Alasa Media is THE storytelling platform that provides good, clean, and wholesome entertainment. Your collaboration, financial giving, and feedback helps to create more safe and positive programs – one story at a time.
